Cusco to Pacchanta
The vehicle transfer from Cusco to Pacchanta takes approximately three hours. Pacchanta is a community situated at an altitude of 4,300 m a.s.l.

Hike in Pacchanta
At 8:30, your hike begins at around 4,200 m.a.s.l. (14,107 feet) above sea level. The route is uphill, and the ascent is expected to take about an hour.
Arrival at the 7 Lagoons
You will reach the first lagoon at approximately 9:30, at an altitude of 4,500 m.a.s.l. (14,763 feet). The lagoons are arranged in sequence, one after another. Here are the names and altitudes of each:
Pucacocha Lagoon (4,500 m.a.s.l.) — Chocolate-like colour.
Patacocha Lagoon (4,620 m.a.s.l.) — Clear and transparent.
Alqacocha Lagoon (4,650 m.a.s.l.) — Offers views of Ausangate.
Qomercocha Lagoon (4,655 m.a.s.l.) — Turquoise green colour.
Orco Otorongo Lagoon (4,620 m.a.s.l.) — Resembles the shape of a male puma.
China Otorongo Lagoon (4,550 m.a.s.l.) — Known as the “female puma.”
Azul Cocha Lagoon (4,500 m.a.s.l.) — Dark blue colour.
Return to Pacchanta

- It is recommended that the group is in good walking condition to keep up with the itinerary, although in a group tour we cannot guarantee that everyone will maintain the same trekking pace.
- If you want to ensure your visit to the hot springs, we suggest opting for a private tour. However, you should still be prepared for a demanding hike.

- If you are out of the historic center, we’ll arrange a meeting point.
- If it’s hard for the vehicle to make it to your hotel, we’ll arrange a meeting point.
- We don’t do pick-ups if there are festivals, strikes and car trafic.

Private tours:
- Pick-ups are sharp on time.
- Pick-ups apply for all Cusco city.

- The tour ending time is still aprox; but, we’ll do our best to finish the tour as scheduled.

- There are not many restaurants.

Acclimatization
You should be acclimatized with at least two days of stay at altitude.
Vehicle type and seats
Vehicles:
- Authorized by the Ministry of Transportation of Peru.
- Clean and modern ones.
- Sedan looking auto, 4×4, H1, Van, Renault and Mercedez Benz (it will depend on the group size).
Seats – group tours:
- You reserve a seat in the bus, not a specific number of seat.
- If you get picked-up first, then you can choose some seats (your pick-up time will depend on your hotel location).
- Couples seat together to 95%; however, we can’t warranty this will happen to 100%.
Road
- Paved track.
- The last part of the road is compacted dirt.
- The road is bumpy sometimes.

Driver
- The driver sometimes drives fast due to distance and time constraints.
- If you book a private tour, the driver will drive at a normal speed.
